Marshall Frank is a retired captain from the Metro-Dade Police Department in Miami, Florida, where he spent the majority of his thirty years investigating murders. Born to vaudevillian parents in New York City, he worked various jobs including ballroom dance instructor and symphony violinist before serving a short stint in the United States Marine Corps Reserves and joining the Dade County Sheriff s Office in 1960. He’s used his experiences in law enforcement as the basis for his crime novels.


Steve Glassman has written mystery novels, historical non-fiction, documented explorers, edited books of essays and crime fiction, and much more during his career. His travel book, On the Trail of the Maya Explorer, chronicles and traces the journey of 19th century explorer John Lloyd Stephens. For more than 20 years he’s taught English and writing courses at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach as Professor of Humanities and Communications.


Shannon Greenland considers herself an outdoor girl. She’s into hiking, rafting, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, surfing, mountain biking, spelunking, canoeing, power lifting, running, camping, para-sailing. Not sure when she has time for writing, but she has a series of suspense romances with Echelon Press, and also pens The Specialists YA series for Speak, an imprint of the Penguin Group.


Amy Gorelick -- Amy is Senior Acquisitions Editor at the University Press of Florida, the sole press of the State University System of Florida and one of the largest presses in Florida, where she has worked for over a decade.  Amy acquires scholarly and trade books in the areas of Middle East studies, Latin American studies, and literary criticism.


Jack McDevitt is a former English teacher, naval officer, Philadelphia taxi driver, customs officer, and motivational trainer.  His work has been on the final Nebula ballot ten of the last eleven years.  His first novel, The Hercules Text, won the Philip K. Dick Special Award, and Engines of God was a finalist for the Arthur C. Clarke Award. His last Academy novel, Cauldron, was one of Library Journal's Five Best Science Fiction/Fantasy novels of 2007.

Pamela Bauer Mueller is a national award-winning author of middle reader/young adult novels. A resident of Georgia’s Golden Isles, her last two books are based on real-life characters and have won honors at both the state and national levels. Independently published. Her husband, Michael Mueller, is CEO of their company, Piñata Publishing. After working and living for four years in Anchorage, Alaska, Mike joined the U.S. Customs Service. He is currently an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick Georgia.

Linn Random is recognized as much for her thorough grasp of marketing and promotion as for her action-packed suspense novels. Her marketing career began at Walt Disney World.  She was National Director of the International Advertising Agency and used to speak on behalf of the U.S. Department of Commerce on international marketing and advertising.


Philip F. Deaver is an Associate Professor of English and permanent Writer in Residence at Rollins College. He is the 13th winner of the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction and has held fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts and Bread Loaf. His work, which can be found mostly in the literary magazines, has appeared in Prize Stories: The O. Henry Awards and has been recognized in Best American Short Stories and The Pushcart Prize.
